Being a Woman

I got asked to speak at a New Beginnings program for the Young Women in my sister in law's ward. I found an amazing speech here about woman. The first time I saw it, it really changed my heart and I viewed being a woman differently. It is from an old movie called "A Man Called Peter." It is one of my very favorite movies.
I have been thinking alot about this subject lately. Our Stake President told us that we have the responsibility as woman to have a good influence on the world and not to be influenced by it.

I truly believe we can.

Hope you take the time to watch the short speech.
It will be worth your time.

Lucky Girl. Perfect Day.

Birthday tulips from Melinda.

Birthday shoes from me. :)

Birthday love notes from my boys!

There were about 50 of these beauties placed all over the house.
In cupboards, drawers, the fridge, every single room of the house
and even inside my lesson manual when I taught the Relief Society
Lesson at church today.

Birthday dinner made by Amy. (Mexican Soup)

Birthday Lavender Berry Cream Pie

It looks scary, but it tastes sooooo good! No sugar (are you suprised?)
It's sweetend with Agave Necter. The crust is made with coconut, dates and almonds!
It is pure heaven!
(Those are blue berries not olives.)

Blowing out my candle. With that really creepy face.

John forgetting the flash.
( Do you see my little knight in shining armor? His current obsession.)

Thanks to all who wished me a happy day and shared gifts and goodies!
It was the perfect day!

Lame Blogger

I feel like such a lame blogger these days.
I feel like I haven't been completely honest in the sharing of my life
because I have left out a huge chunk of it.
This huge chunk has been a change I have made over the past 4 months.

I haven't wanted to share it because it sounds so braggy.
I think it is easier for me to share when I am not making the best choices and am messing up and learning from it then to share when I am making good choices and am REALLY happy.
But never the less, it has been a huge part of my life lately.

So, in Oct I joined the new Gold's Gym near my house. Along with my membership I got 10 sessions with a personal trainer. I began following a very healthy, wonderful eating plan and working out 5 days a week. 3 days weight training, 2 days cardio.

I feel strong. I started out not being able to do 1 real push up and can now do 14!
I love eating healthy and just eating for the shear nutrient/fuel factor.
It feels amazing.
And..... it is not a diet. This is my new life style and I love it.

Stats:

5 inches gone
4% body fat gone
30 lbs. gone

Here is to a healthy, happy new me!

I truly believe that when we are wise stewards over our bodies we are blessed in many ways!
I struggled with and prayed for 3 years to be able to find the right way for me to be in good health and feel good about my body. And I feel truly guided to this point....
And ever so grateful!

A new girl in our lives.

Now brace your selves. You are about to hear a bit of news that ( if you really know me) will shock you.

We got a dog. I got a dog. The birds were enough to drive me insane. And the boys in my life want a pet so bad.

So I have been researching about dogs.
I needed one that doesn't shed and stayed small.
The only problem is that they cost anywhere from 1,000-3,000 dollars.
Not happening!

So, I was driving in my neighborhood and I saw a little dog that looked like what I was looking for and so I rolled down my window and asked the owners where they got her.

They told me they were moving and couldn't take her and I could have her.
WHAT?!?!

So, we have a dog. Well, she's 3 months old and adoreable and sweet.
Almost potty trained and sleeps through the night.
The boys adore her and I spray her with vanilla and raspberry spray's so she smells tolerable.
She's a shitzu/poodle mix.

I actually like her! Maybe even love her....... maybe.

How could I resist?

Taking a picture of a puppy is near impossible!

Here's to miracles!
I guess they really do happen everyday!
Her name is Sophi (by the way) aka: Sophrina Ballerina.

Random Thoughts

I am so busy reading every one else's blogs that I don't have time for mine.
And every one else's are so much more interesting. Right?

But I am excited about this long weekend with my family. We are going to go hiking and just play games together and get some things done around the house.

I love John so much. He tries so hard and is so good. Good to his very core.

And I am in love with my little boys. Almost daily I want to pinch myself
because I can't believe this is my life.

I also have the best friends in the world. I have never felt so loved and supported away from my family.

God is love. I can feel him leading me and trying to teach me some eternal lessons of truth. That is one aspect of my life I am always amazed about.

Two Thousand and Ten

I need to say I love you already 2010.
There is something to be said for new beginnings.
Even though in reality time has not changed.
It is still just another day, week, month.

And yet there is something so clean and fresh about a new number on a calender.

So, here's to a new year and a better (not new) me.

As 2009 said good bye I got my physical self under control and tackled that goal head on.

So, my main focus for 2010 is my spiritual self. You will no longer be put last, spiritual self. You are number one.

If that is the case I have a good feeling about 2010. Not because it will be easy but maybe because I have alot of spiritual growing to do.

And that surely isn't easy.

But it will be worth it.

Happy New Year.
