Reflection

I observed the most beautiful woman at my gym the other day.

She was about 75 years old. She was doing yoga poses. She was so focused and peaceful.

I had just finished filling my head with junk about poor Demi Moore and how she is loosing it.
All on a count of the fact that she has completely placed her self worth in her image and what people think of her looks and body.
She admitted that.
Sad.

So now contrast, this woman I am watching. She has all natural grey/white hair with the old blond ends. Only it is soft and sleek and pulled back.
She has on these awesome stretch pants with little hearts in different, bright colors all over them.
She is wearing some funky yellow socks too.

I couldn't help myself....

I walked over to her ( when she came out of a pose) and squeezed her arm, looking right into her sparkly, crystal blue eyes and said " You are adorable! And I love your pants!"

Her face lit up and she gasped, "Thank you so much!"

I then told her I hope I am still doing yoga when I am her age and she assured me I would if I just keep doing it every day.

Here is Demi, who has fought the aging process, tried to remain young, and has fallen pitifully.
We should embrace old age gracefully! Aging is beautiful!

Self confidence, self worth and sincere love for oneself is true beauty!

I hope I am the natural, happy, shining, heart sprinkled pants wearing lady when I grow old.

Love, love, love that picture! If only we could take more naps like that! I love that you notice details in people. And especially that you have the courage to go up to people and talk to them and give them compliments. I bet that made her day!

I love it Lisa! Your "reflections" were right on. Sometimes I think how nice it will be when I'm 70 and can just wear whatever I want and do my hair however I want just because I like the color yellow and felt like wearing yellow socks, matching or no! Here's to fantastic older people who show us the key to true beauty! jen

Isn't it the truth! Every time I go thru the line at the grocery store I'm so glad I'm not a movie star. By the way I got my first wrinkle this semester. Right between my eyes. I thought "My mom has a wrinkle just like that."
