So, in one day Isaac experienced two firsts.
Neither of which were positive, but firsts none the less.
We went to a fun park we don't go to often.
Isaac was riding his scooter down a hill that went from pavement to gravel.
Just as he zoomed past me I yelled, "You better slow down!"
And boom, huge wipeout!
Pretty good scraped up elbows and knees!
The second, first was this....
Isaac came up to me after recovering from the fall and playing on the playground:
Isaac: "Mom, what does **** mean? (replace stars with the f-word)
Me: Open mouth, huge eyes, shocked, "What did you say? Come here please. Where did you hear that word?"
Isaac: " I read it on the slide." (He reads now.... Whole new world.)
Me: " Isaac that is one of the worst words ever, ever. It makes Heavenly Father so sad. And I wish that you would never say it again and try to forget it."
Isaac: With a slight, mischevious grin, "Ok mom."
Like I said, not good firsts.
And I hope I never hear that horrible word come out of my sons mouth again!

I didn't know that second part happened at the park too! Hearing the bad word is almost worse than the scrapes, huh. Both are learning experiences at least. :)
oh those darn slides at seastrand....my kids have done the same exact thing. i told one of mine who got the same mischevious grin that the first time was okay but the second time he knew better and he would get soap in his mouth if he said it again. never heard it again.
ai ai....that stinks....stupid teenagers leaving stuff for the kids to read....
I use to see bad words all over the inside of the jungle gyms when I lived there. They're always written where the mom's don't go, so climb in there now and then;) I just tell the lawn maintenance guys and they're cool about painting over it. I think they do it a lot.
What are your Thanksgiving plans? Come to Thatcher.
