Arizona Part IV

While we were there we had a little mini reunion. Callie is an aspiring photographer, so we were very lucky to have her practice on all of us!
The pictures turned out WONDERFUL!
I am going to print and frame them for my house.

The theme for our reunion was turning out hearts to the temple. The new mini temple is under construction in their little town and they can't wait!  Trying to describe my feelings for my family and how I felt the whole time I was there is hard to do...... I was over whelmed with love and gratitude for these people.  I don't know if it is because it had been 5 months since I had seen them or if the Lord was just blessing me to see how blessed I truly am.  But each one of them holds a treasured spot in my heart. They all bring such life and joy and diversity and I learn so much from them and can never get enough!

Have you ever seen a cuter cowboy in your whole life???

TO DIE FOR!

I had so many amazing , unforgettable experiences. My great grandma's passing was so special. I was not able to be there or apart of any of my other grandparen't passing, so I treasure this dearly.
One day about a week before she died my Mom, Dena and I went over to visit her at the care home whe was staying in.  She was so sick with a broken elbow and fluid in her lungs. She wanted to be at her own house, but she needed around the clock care.
Needless to say, she was not very happy.  So, we suggested singing hymns together. She said she would love it but that she probably couldn't sing and would mouth the words. Then as we started singing There is Sunshine in My Soul Today, she threw her head back on the couch and began singing at the top of her 100 year old voice! She sang every word of all three verses!
No words came from me as I watched her share her testimony
through song and truly find that peice of sunshine in her soul (our Savior).
It was one of the sweetest moments of my life. I will never forget it! I hold so dear the way it felt to go and serve her and just let her know that we cared and were very aware of her suffering.

This AMAZING women did work for 5 to 7 thousand people in the temple over her life time!!!!! Can you imagine her welcome when she got to the other side?
I hope to be able to do that kind of service and work and leave behind me a legacy of faith as well.

And now, back to real life. I truly let everything go while I was there. I ate what I wanted, did what I wanted and besides my two boys, let all my responsiblities go. I just soaked up every second with all of them. I was very sad to come home. I love all my friends and the people here in Las Vegas, but I so desperatley miss living near my family!
But, I know we are supposed to be here and I am grateful for our lives  as they are!

What a special experience you were able to share with your Gma. I have tears in my eyes.

I'm so glad that you were able to have new and cute updated family pics! I can't believe how beautiful and grown up Lela is and what a stud your little bro has turned into. I bet your mom just soaked up all the time with all of her grandkids.

Your hair looks cute straightened too!

What a fun, fun place...and surrounded by all your family! Heaven!

PS. Go and look at the last few chapters in Little Women. Beth doesn't die, Jo doesn't leave, (neither does Amy)... It ends with Meg being engaged to the teacher and the dad is home from the war, and they're just "all together", Laurie and all. They are all a lot younger than in the movie. If I read correctly, the book only spans about 1 year of their life (as apposed to the movie, which is several...ie. Amy grows up). Now, I'm gonna have to go read it so I don't feel crazy too! :)
